Welcome to Kelvin Hall School
Welcome to the newly designed Kelvin Hall School website!
The site has been designed to help you find out all you need to know about the school and what it has to offer, whether you are a pupil, a parent or a member of the local community.
It contains news and information about the school’s achievements; information about the curriculum; school policies; and term dates. There is also the facility to top up your child’s ‘wise pay’ card, which allows them to buys food and drink on site without needing to bring any cash.
The new website is just one of the exciting changes that staff and students at Kelvin Hall will enjoy this year, as the new school site is due to open its doors for the first time in April 2012.
The new school building cost £27.5 million to build and includes a range of fantastic modern facilities to help each and every one of our students to achieve their own potential and get the most out of learning.
These facilities include: fully equipped classrooms, some with retractable walls to allow classes to learn in an informal setting; a new learning resource centre including a library, IT access and photocopying facilities that can be used by the community outside school hours; a large performance hall with retractable seating; and a set of ‘Hellerup’ stairs a wide staircase in the middle of the school that students can use as seating during classes and break times.
The whole building has been designed with modern learning in mind and offers students and teachers the opportunity to be flexible in the way they use the school.
The new building and all that it has to offer perfectly complements the excellent existing sports facilities at the school.
The school has a floodlit 3G football pitch, which can be used in all weathers; a fully equipped dance studio with fully-sprung flooring, bars and a full mirrored wall; and a large sports hall also with fully-sprung flooring that can be used for many sports and leisure activities.
Sports facilities at Kelvin Hall are available for hire outside school hours.
