Building Your Own Pavilion
On Friday, 29th September, six Year 8 students took part in an architectural workshop at the Ferens Art Gallery. The workshop ‘Building Your Own Pavilion’ is part of a nationwide campaign to celebrate architecture and to encourage budding young architects to design public spaces for the cities of the future. At the workshop, the students were encouraged to investigate and learn about architecture and design in relation to the people and communities in the places where the students live. The students also walked around and studied the Turner Prize exhibits to see first-hand this prestigious art exhibition.
The organisers of the workshop and Ms Robins, their art teacher, said the students (Rowan Bartholomew, James Dean, Jack Marsters, Jemima Shipley, Amelia Harrison and Logan Anderson) were a credit to themselves and to Kelvin Hall School.
